Lege on your phone

Each author has a reader made for phones. It keeps the works you download on your device, so you can read them without a connection, and it can be added to your home screen like an app.

Open a reader

Thomas Aquinaslege.me/aquinas/m/ Augustine of Hippolege.me/augustinus/m/ Albert the Greatlege.me/albertus/m/

How it works

  1. Sign in. The reader asks for the same account you use on the author's site. If you do not have one, create it on the site first (the Account entry of the main menu, or register here).
  2. Download the works you want. The library lists every work of the author; tap Download on a work and it is stored on your phone, encrypted. Downloaded works appear at the top of the library and can be removed again at any time.
  3. Read offline. Open a downloaded work from the library. The Latin and the translation are shown as columns; you can choose which columns to see and switch between a full, two-column or stacked layout. The reader remembers where you were in each work.
  4. Stay up to date. When you are online the reader checks whether a downloaded work has changed and offers the update; edits made on the site arrive live while the reader is open.
  5. Add it to your home screen. On an iPhone or iPad, open the reader in Safari, tap the Share button and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu. The reader then opens full screen like an app, including offline.

Each author's reader keeps its own downloads and sign-in. The full sites, with editing, search and every tool, remain available on a phone's browser as well: lege.me/aquinas, lege.me/augustinus, lege.me/albertus, and the global search. Phones are sent here from the home page; to see the desktop home page on this phone instead, use the desktop site.
